Product Description
Three Direction Crossarm Stringing Block for Straight, Left and Right Pulls
At an angle pole the conductor does not arrive and leave in one plane. A single direction block has to be re-rigged, or the conductor has to be led around the frame, and both cost time on every structure. This crossarm mounted block carries three sheave positions on one seat, so a crew can run the pull straight through, turn it left or turn it right without taking the block off the arm. Rated 20KN for conductor up to LGJ 240, in aluminium or nylon sheave versions weighing 4.3kg and 4.0kg.
Model Data
| Item No. | Model | Rated Load (kN) | Suitable Conductor | Weight (kg) | Sheave |
| 10291 | SHCS-2L | 20 | up to LGJ 240 | 4.3 | Aluminium |
| 10292 | SHCS-2N | 20 | up to LGJ 240 | 4.0 | Nylon |
All sheaves run on ball bearings and the frame is galvanized steel. Sheave diameter and groove radius are confirmed against the conductor at order stage, so the block can be matched to a specific ACSR or AAC size.
What Three Directions Actually Solve
-
No re-rigging at the angle pole: the pull changes direction by moving the conductor from one sheave to the next on the same seat, not by slacking off and re-hanging the block.
-
Same block on tangent and angle structures: one stock item covers both, which is useful for crews that cannot predict which structure the next pull will reach.
-
Conductor stays off the frame: each direction has its own groove position, so the conductor does not rub the frame or the insulator string as the pull comes round the corner.
-
Seated, not hung: the block sits flat on the crossarm, so the load goes into the arm rather than into a hook, which keeps the assembly stable while the direction changes.
Load at the Corner
At an angle pole the block takes the resultant of both conductor legs, roughly 2T x cos(θ/2). At a 30 degree line angle that is about 1.93T and at 60 degrees about 1.73T. With a 20KN block and LGJ 240 at a working tension near 8KN, the resultant stays inside the rating even at a sharp angle; at higher tensions the angle has to be checked rather than assumed.
Mounting Checks
The seat must sit flat on the arm with the bolt through the arm, not on a shim or a weld bead, and it must not rock when the conductor load comes on. Check that the block clears the insulator string through the full swing of the direction change, that the conductor cannot ride up a side flange, and that the sheave spins freely before the pull starts. After the pull, check the seat bolt and the frame for distortion before moving to the next structure.
Sheave Material Choice
Nylon for aluminium and coated conductor: it does not mark the strands and there is no galvanic couple. Aluminium where the same block is used repeatedly with steel rope, or where the groove has to survive abrasive site conditions. Both versions share the same frame and seat, so a depot can hold one frame type and two sheave types.
Packing and Supply
Blocks are packed in wooden cases with sheaves protected from impact. Monthly capacity is around 1000 pieces, delivery 7 to 15 days, minimum order 1 set, OEM marking and packing marks to the buyer drawing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the same block be used on a tangent pole? Yes, it runs straight through without using the side positions.
Is a hanging version available? This model is crossarm seated; hanging single sheave blocks are a separate product line.
What conductor range suits the 20KN rating? Up to LGJ 240 within the bend radius allowance, which is confirmed when the groove is cut.
